Chris Ainsworth’s commitment to the City of Vaughan is rooted in more than two decades of dedicated community service. For over 24 years, he has been actively involved in strengthening neighbourhoods, supporting local families, and giving back through meaningful civic and charitable initiatives.

In 2022, Chris was elected as the Ward 4 Councillor for the City of Vaughan. Since then, he has proudly served the residents of Ward 4, advocating for safer neighbourhoods, responsible growth, improved city services, and a stronger community. Chris considers it a true privilege and honour to represent the residents of Ward 4 and is deeply grateful for their continued trust and support.

Chris is widely recognized for his leadership in community fundraising, most notably as the founder of the Thornhill Woods Haunted House, an annual event that attracts thousands of visitors from across the GTA. With the support of his family, Chris has helped raise more than $230,000 for organizations including SickKids Foundation, Mackenzie Health Foundation, and the Vaughan Food Bank.

In recognition of his service, Chris received the Ward 4 2020 Civic Hero Award for Outstanding Contribution, Commitment, and Compassion in helping others.

Beyond his professional life, Chris is a husband to Shirley and a proud father of two sons, Ryan and Matthew. He has raised his family in Thornhill Woods, where he remains deeply connected to the community he continues to serve.

Re-electing Chris Ainsworth as Ward 4 City Councillor would provide continuity of experienced and dedicated representation for Vaughan residents. Chris remains committed to serving the community with integrity, accountability, and a steady, principled approach to decision-making. He will continue to support transparent and ethical governance, advocate for strong local services, and promote responsible financial management that balances current needs with long-term sustainability for the community.

Chris is an accomplished business executive in the restaurant and food equipment industry, with a distinguished career spanning senior leadership roles, including President, Vice President of Business Development, and Director of Marketing. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated strong strategic leadership, effective negotiation skills, and a results-driven approach to problem-solving.

With extensive experience in budgeting, business planning, sales strategy, and performance analysis, Chris understands the importance of fiscal discipline, long-term planning, and accountability. His leadership style is collaborative and solutions-focused, enabling him to bring people together around shared goals and deliver meaningful outcomes.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Management from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and continues to strengthen his professional expertise through ongoing education and certifications.
